JazzMundo
This band has played many times for New Hive's clients, always to great acclaim. As a wedding reception band they never fail to please. Some of our venue booker and event organiser clients book them regularly and are sorely disappointed if they have already been booked elsewhere. Their professional approach and musicianship guarantee they will attract only accolades, never complaints. They are a lively band who mix their own Latin-tinged originals with harmonised vocals and the magical 'Hot Club' swing of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli. Hot rhythms and memorable tunes tastefully arranged and played with great energy - the perfect music to add a touch of charm, fun and style to your occasion. Sometimes new, sometimes maddeningly familiar, music to make you tap your feet and get up to dance. JazzMundo performs with impeccable musicianship and adds panache to any occasion.
JazzMundo has played together for over eight years, bringing elegance and fun to all sorts of occasions, venues and events. The band members are all graduates of music colleges, and have many years experience of performing to a wide variety of audiences. The music is cool, laid back, acoustic, vocal and memorable. A classic combination of acoustic guitars, violin, double bass, clarinet/saxophone/accordion, percussion and drums.
They continue to please audiences at various events and special occasions across the United Kingdom including weddings and family occasions, festivals, corporate functions, art galleries and private parties. They have performed at the Edinburgh Festival, Royal Ascot, and on Sky TV. Based in Northern England, in and around Leeds, the band has travelled extensively to play to a wide range of locations in Yorkshire, Lancastershire (their word, such wags, these musicians) and beyond.
They have a CD called "Cousto" which is a mixture of covers of gypsy and Latin styled standards. This should be added to later this year by a new CD of fully original music, most of which has already been written.
Other plans for this year include a further appearance at the Edinburgh Festival.
